"In search of a meal in the vicinity after arriving for a 4 day family teip, we found this on google and with good reviews, called and luckily they had a table for 8 of us last minute Friendly welcome and told to sit wherever we wanted. Nice big table and loads of board games available to keep thenkids entertained as well as Prince Fluffy Balls the rescued pub cat. So fruendly and cuddly, on your lap and fell asleep. He is also a cheeky chappy and attempts to help himself to food from your plate. Stadf were very attentive tho and quickly removed him if he was being naughty so we could eat but whilst waiting we enjoyed his antics and cuddles. He even had a nap together with my mum at the table. Food was delicious, we had the Macaroni cheese, a vegan tapas board, a fish tapas board and a quesadilla. All were big enough and tasty. Desserts were varied and also tasty. All in all a very pleasant fun evening out with the family befire it was back to the glamping site."

Rotten weather for a Sunday (or any day come to that!) so we (threesome) decided to have lunch for a change and travelled the short distance to the Camelot View menu

Fantastic food. One of the most delightful pubs we visited on our week long hike through Wessex area. I ordered a vegetarian platter and it was presented so well! All of us liked our food. The proprietor was delightful!

Passing through the area, we stopped for a late lunch. The home-cooked food was great really hard to find fault. Had a lovely steak that was cooked well with homemade chips, my wife had the burger. Both meals were spot on. Will be back sometime soon.

Stopped for lunch during our countryside hike and enjoyed a fantastic lunch! It was truly one of our best meals during our 7 day visit in the area. Lunch boards were amazing, fish and chips delicious, and 5 bean chili a group favorite. Definitely recommend to anyone traveling through the area! View menu

The main meals were delicious some bigger portions then others so abit inconsistent. When it came to dessert we waited almost an hour to be greeted with a 'sharing board ' this consisted of tiny nibbles of food and after seeing photos on here we can say we were ripped off paying £12 for it I 've uploaded our photo and someone else 's to compare

Lovely rustic pub. Great meal with seconds if desired. V reasonably priced and service ace. Dessert lovely. Just up road on right is trackway to one of the finest hillforts is UK. Very historical iron age but refortified during 5th century AD so of Dark Age interest and regularly connected to 'Arthurian ' sagas. If visiting hillfort wear stout shoes trackway stony and this time of year muddy. Recommend a visit to pub andd hill. Latter sports exceptional views of countryside for miles around.

"Our first visit to The George Inn at Donyatt, we've drove by it time's going to other places and it always looks such a nice place. We decided to have lunchtime meal there to celebrate our anniversary and weren't disappointed, beamed ceilings, log burner and brick fireplace, farm tools and pictures on the walls cosy and oldie worldy with friendly locals just how we like our pubs. The staff and owner were really friendly, polite and chatted to us as if we locals from the village, the waitresses were smartly dressed, polite attentive always smiling, cheerful, charming and chatty. Even the chef nodded and smiled to us the couple of times he walked through and the bar and table areas were spotlessly clean. Our meals starters and mains were absolutely fantastic and amazing as was the presentation, they were hot good amounts of food with tender succulent meats and vegetables and the mashed potatoes were creamy smooth and light and have never had better. There's a good selection of beers and I had local ale which was amazing, clear, cool with a nice head and tasted like nectar. We will definitely be coming back soon and we can definitely recommend this pub, restaurant and hotel to family, friends, neighbours and anyone. A very big well done and thank you to the owners, all the staff especially the chef, please please please keep this pub the way it is, it's an absolute treasure and gem of a place to find. YOU ALL MADE OUR ANNIVERSARY VERY SPECIAL Especially in these times when a majority of local village pubs are closing down and being turned into houses or flats, we must all support our local village pubs like The George Inn."
