"First time visiting, we went with friends who’ve been before they live in York but we live miles away. First impressions are just an average looking pub from the outside. Mind you, this was November so wasn’t looking its summary best. However, inside...was really well decorated and had a lovely cosy look and feel to it. The staff were all professional, welcoming and friendly big plus points for that in my book. We started with a few drinks (all great) then onto food which was REALLY good! Well presented, great portion sizes and so so tasty All for a very reasonable price too!"

We came here for my partner's birthday . This is a superb pub with delicious food. The staff are welcoming and the food was quickly brought out. We are planning to return soon and would recommend to anyone .

We booked in today at tea time and the food was lovely, highly recommend to anyone who wants good food and service, all of us really enjoyed it, steaks were cooked to perfection… we will definitely be going back !

Friendly staff, lovely tasty food, large portions, of us had Sunday Roasts, amazing cauliflower cheese, beautiful Yorkshire puddings (converted by son, into liking them). Medley of other veg, roasts and mash. Clean, fresh surrounding.

Fantastic evening meal, menu has so much too choose from it was hard deciding what to have. All food was top quality great portion sizes, we'll be going back again to work our way through the menu. First time of visiting this lovely pub in a beautiful village. The pub and restaurant were spotless. Outside area is well looked after, lots of tables. Ordered food, I asked for something not on the menu, nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing....Homemade chunky chips were fab. Get them to share they are so filling. We will definitely be back.

Visited here as a large family group with babies and a toddler. We had pre ordered our Sunday mains and service was excellent. Food quality was so good and there were empty plates! Most of us opted for desserts which were also superb....The pub had a warm welcoming feel to it and the staff were very accommodating. Baby changing facilities were great aswell. If we are ever in the area again then will definately return!
