"We popped into the huxley when we was waiting in our room at the rutland being ready and so glad we did as soon as we walked in we was greeted by bobbie her bubbly personality made us feel so welcome food was lovely she then said she would be in the morning and would see us at breakfast and she was so bubbly again our breakfast was included in our stay which we didn't realise so that was a lovely surprise we are so happy we went in as from the minute we arrived to the minute we left the experience was great thank you so much to the staff here and especially bobbie"

Called in on a Monday. Had £6 cocktails and 3 tapas to share. Lasagne bites and nachos were excellent. Lovely spot for a drink and bite to eat. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere.

Came here for cocktail week. Walked in and was greeted by a waitress that couldn’t have been less welcoming if she tried. Seemed like we were an inconvenience and looked down upon.

This restaurant around the corner from our hotel. We had some drinks to start. Wife opted for a wedge salad and fries, I had the rump steak and garlic mashed. Dessert: baked vanilla cheesecake. Food was very good. View menu

Very slow service at the bar, no acknowledgment of your presence and took a good few minutes to ask what we wanted. Then to be served a pint of West in a warm glass, spoiled the experience. Wine, Sauvignon Blanc was from Chile and very poor. This place has gone downhill so much in the last few years it is hard to believe!

Just wanted one drink, no table available- ALL booked for food though there was plenty empty when we looked around! Told we could stand at bar. Ignored by bar staff then asked to move along a bit. We just left. How hard is it to just have one drink? Are all patrons expected to eat in order to be welcomed? Was better years ago when it was The Rutland

We came across here looking for breakfast that served haggis so got a Scottish breakfast. The breakfast was nice, typical breakfast, nothing spectacular but tasty. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We returned later that day for a few drinks, the Halloween special cocktail was delicious and so was the spicy margaritas! Slightly on the pricer side but probably expected for a city. View menu

I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant twice during my anniversary trip, and I must say that the attentive service and the quality of food were nothing short of exceptional. I honestly can't find a single fault in either the staff or the food. The consistent level of excellence over two visits during our anniversary trip was impressive. It's no wonder we returned for a second time. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone.

We booked a table and it turns out that it was sensible to do this because we had a perfect position in the window aspect looking out onto the Waldorf Astoria and a view of Edinburgh Castle. Not a cheap breakfast but it was lovely. Haggis included too. Good coffee . The Huxley’s Hash was devoured and it’s a great portion!! Good variation of dishes to choose from, nice and hot too. Cozy destination. Great place to “people watch “ Only down side is the annoying service charge.
