Been here a few times when Scotland play and there is always a good atmosphere in here. Nice pints served and the last time we were in we ordered some food which was really good as well. Staff nice and friendly too, will highly recommend.

We had a fantastic experience at The Saltire today for a birthday lunch with a group of four. The food was delicious as usual and the staff were outstanding, ensuring that the birthday celebrant had a wonderful time. They went out of their way to bring out the birthday cake, sing happy birthday, and take photos of the group, which were all thoughtful gestures. To top it off, they also gave the birthday boy a complimentary mocktail to end the afternoon on a high note. Extremely disappointed with our experience today. I had 11 chips and a small thin tough slice of fish. My cousins husband ordered a gammon steak sizzler which came on an ordinary plate as they had run out of sizzling plates. The only decent meal was my cousins burger. The staff were run off their feet and if they are going to take that amount of people who were in today they definitely need some more staff, this restaurant is usually good value for money and lovely food. I sincerely hope that this was a one off and not a sign of things to come otherwise we will need to rethink our patronage.

I had a fantastic experience at The Saltire Livingston and would highly recommend it. We booked a private dining experience for my mum's 70th birthday and the service was impeccable from start to finish. Danielle and the team were very accommodating and went above and beyond to help us set up the function suite, creating a relaxed environment. Shannon, Barrie and the kitchen team were also amazing, ensuring everything was done with impeccable timing and to a high standard. I went out for dinner tonight and had a bit of a mixed experience. The service for drinks was slow, taking 15 minutes for our first round and 20 minutes for my second drink. We tried to order our meal using the app, but it wasn't working so we had to go up to the bar. The bartender put our order through the till, but there was a discrepancy in the total due to a deal that was not clearly explained. Despite this, we didn't argue over the small £3 difference. My starter, hunter's waffle fries, arrived with just cheese at first, but I had to send it back for sauce. I also noticed that there was no bacon, but decided to just eat it as is.
