"I met a relative who lives in the nearby village for lunch at this restaurant and it exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere of the restaurant still has a traditional pub feel, even though most people come here for the food. There are two connected rooms, with one room having carpeting and feeling more like a dining room with the main bar, and the other room to the left having an open wood burner, large settees, and more of a lounge feel. The menu offers traditional pub fare at a reasonable price, and all four dishes we ordered were very good. I chose the steak and ale pie and asked if I could have mashed potatoes instead of chips or new potatoes. Even though it wasn't on the menu, the kitchen accommodated my request, which I appreciated. The restaurant serves Everards beer, with four different options on tap. The Everards Tiger was available in two taps, the seasonal Everards Sunchaser Golden Ale was on another tap, and a cider was on the fourth tap. While the Tiger pint wasn't the best I've had, it was still decent. If I lived in Edith Weston, Normanton, or North Luffenham and could walk to this pub, I would have no complaints."

Tend to go here once a year and usually in January! The welcome and service is always good and the basic pub grub is tasty and nicely presented. Good choice of beers etc and all at fair prices! Must go in the summer!

Well run. Clean. Very polite staff. Freshly prepared local produce. Sunday roast was exceptional. Beef cooked to perfection. Vegetables cooked just right. None of this frozen and ping microwave cooking. Staff very friendly. Can't rate this pub high enough. View menu

If you want to pay £15 for a portion that is called a full meal but resembles a child's portion then this is the place for you! first time here on a stop of home from Rutland water, and will be the last, poor value for money in the opinion of all 4 of us who ate here

After exploring Rutland Water Reserve for a few hours, we decided to take a break at the Wheatsheaf for some drinks and a light lunch. The atmosphere was lovely, the staff was friendly, and the food (particularly the variety of baguettes) was delicious. The prices for drinks were also very reasonable. I would highly recommend this as a charming spot to visit.

I have visited this restaurant several times. My last visit was on Sunday, March 24th. The roast was delicious and came with a side of fresh vegetables. However, I also ordered the Stilton and Mushroom Risotto, which was disappointingly small and mostly consisted of sauce with very few grains of rice. The garlic bread provided the most substance in the dish. Overall, it was not an enjoyable meal. View menu

Excellent pub experience myself and my partner were camping in the area thought we would try the local pub for Sunday lunch. The service was friendly and efficient we ordered 2 roast beef Sunday lunches. Everything was cooked perfectly great portion size and was delicious. What I did like was we didn’t have to wait ages for the bill afterwards, we will definitely be back again the pub has a warm and welcoming atmosphere- wish it was my local!

Went for a drink today on our way through wasn’t planning on eating here but food smelt looked great so we took a chance and gave it a try!! (we are fussy eaters). So glad we did, it was a fabulous Roast. A tad expensive at £16.95 each £8.25 for kids, however we had Beef and got plenty of slices each, a great sized yorkie, plenty of veg and potatoes plenty!! The horseradish was also delightful Staff were friendly and welcoming as bikers this isn’t always the case We will definitely return !
