"I have been hearing about the delicious lunches here, particularly the gammon steak from my husband. When we visited the area this weekend, we went with my in laws. We didn't order a huge variety. Despite many mouth watering choices, three of us ordered chicken, leek and ham pie and one had the gammon steak. Everything came to the table piping hot, fresh and delicious. The combination of the pie, chips and fresh peas was outstanding. The local beers were flavourful. Service: the owner was very considerate of my father in law who has mobility problems. The area where we were seated was on the level of the entrance. There were no steps and the owner made sure that the seating was comfortable. The wait staff were attentive and prompt, but not intrusive. The décor is pleasant traditional but fresh and clean looking. There is a wood fire in an adjoining room; perfect for a cold evening. A sheltered beer garden is at the front entrance of the pub, under a marquee at the moment, but that may change in the warmer months. I would like to come back in the summer. I hope to make visiting the Edith Weston Wheatsheaf a habit; there were too many dishes I would like to try."

Tend to go here once a year and usually in January! The welcome and service is always good and the basic pub grub is tasty and nicely presented. Good choice of beers etc and all at fair prices! Must go in the summer!

Popped in for a lunch, have never been before and menu looked alright. I ordered the ploughmans, came with no ham just salad, cheese, pickle and a woeful little slice of pork pie. Wife ordered the burger, it was inedible. Had a terrible bitter taste...

Well run. Clean. Very polite staff. Freshly prepared local produce. Sunday roast was exceptional. Beef cooked to perfection. Vegetables cooked just right. None of this frozen and ping microwave cooking. Staff very friendly. Can't rate this pub high enough.

After exploring Rutland Water Reserve for a few hours, we decided to take a break at the Wheatsheaf for some drinks and a light lunch. The atmosphere was lovely, the staff was friendly, and the food (particularly the variety of baguettes) was delicious. The prices for drinks were also very reasonable. I would highly recommend this as a charming spot to visit.

My wife and I had a short break in the midweek following Easter and stayed in Edith Weston. One evening, we walked to the Wheatsheaf from our accommodation and had a three course meal, which was truly excellent. The wine was good too. This is real Pub food expertly cooked with the freshest ingredients. The Pub has a nice friendly atmosphere and the staff were great. I wish this Pub was in our village.

Excellent pub experience myself and my partner were camping in the area thought we would try the local pub for Sunday lunch. The service was friendly and efficient we ordered 2 roast beef Sunday lunches. Everything was cooked perfectly great portion size and was delicious. What I did like was we didn’t have to wait ages for the bill afterwards, we will definitely be back again the pub has a warm and welcoming atmosphere- wish it was my local!

I met a relative who lives in the nearby village for lunch at this restaurant and it exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere of the restaurant still has a traditional pub feel, even though most people come here for the food. There are two connected rooms, with one room having carpeting and feeling more like a dining room with the main bar, and the other room to the left having an open wood burner, large settees, and more of a lounge feel. The menu offers traditional pub fare at a reasonable price, and all four dishes we ordered were very good. I chose the steak and ale pie and asked if I could have mashed potatoes instead of chips or new potatoes. Even though it wasn't on the menu, the kitc...
