"I went to this restaurant with my family, who are not vegan, and the staff were all very friendly. We started with an olive platter which was tasty, and although the portion of the vegan wellington was small for the price of £16, it was absolutely delicious. The madeira sauce was particularly good. The vegan brownie I had for dessert was unique but also very tasty. It was rich and chocolatey, and the vegan ice cream was great. However, since the restaurant mainly serves meat, I can only give it three stars. I would suggest adding more vegan options. I would recommend going to Y Sgwar, which is about ten minutes away, for more vegan choices, but overall it was still a fantastic meal."

The Vegan Wellington and chocolate pudding were delicious at this fancy restaurant. Even my family members who eat meat enjoyed it.

The vegan wellington was just as tasty as the chocolate pudding. The restaurant is stylish, and even my meat-eating family enjoyed it. View menu

On my second night here really lovely, clean boutique style. Good position, friendly helpful staff. Great breakfast and dinner. Would definitely recommend.

Breakfast was really lovely, it was a shame that the restaurant was fully booked in the evening as the food looked great. The room was a bit dated, but clean and really good value for money. The location was great, just by the harbour. View menu

we were self-catering in porthmadog and discovered yr hen fecws at the bottom of the road. we ate there twice and would highly recommend a visit. we had creamy mushrooms on ciabatta, skalopps with crispy black pudding and blackbons, Moroccan spiced lamb with couscous, pan meerroter salmon with linguini, rib eye steak, mushroom risotto, and white chocolate and skyberry cream brulee. .over 2 visits) was very well presented, tasty and well sorted portions. the wee were good and good price. friendly atmosphere and helpful staff. very good.

I went to this restaurant with my family, who are all vegan. The staff were very friendly. We started with a tasty olive plate, and although the vegan wellington option was a bit pricey at £16, it was absolutely delicious. The madeira sauce was particularly good. The vegan brownie for dessert was unusual but also tasty, with rich chocolate and delicious vegan ice cream. Unfortunately, the restaurant mainly serves meat dishes, so I can only give it three stars. I would love to see more vegan options on the menu. I would be willing to drive about ten minutes away for more vegan choices, but overall it was a fantastic meal.

"Covid has presented some organisations with some proper challenges. Restaurants in particular with reduced capacities and timid punters who won 't come out to play yet were on the ropes until the chancellor bailed them with some tax payers ' hard earned cash. Since a two or three course Sunday lunch here gets you free entry into Portmeirion a hearty £37 off my bill for the four of us if you 're planning to visit anyway it was a no brainer that we should eat at the Brasserie. Currently you can only eat if you book in advance and by phone no on line booking is available which I 'd certainly recommend since we saw at least 3 couples turned down due to the place being fully booked up great news for the restaurant if not so for the hungry lunch hunters. The menu is short sirloin beef, braised lamb, roast chicken and trout with a couple of veggie options but this is never a bad thing in my opinion since it allows the chef to focus on quality. I had the mussels, lamb and the cheese board. Although all the normal Covid restrictions are in place particularly nice touch is the cutlery in its own wrappers declaring your perfectly sanitised cutlery none of it felt constrictive and the staff were brilliant at pretending they weren 't all washing everything furiously between each handling of every plate they touched and made us feel welcome and well looked after. The quality is far above your best gastro pub but with modest prices £20 for 2 courses, £30 for three with wines between £22 30 bar the sparklings and the four of us ate for £140 with drinks. We all need to get out and eat to save these businesses and I recommend this one whole heartedly."
