"So last night, we decided to check out an Italian resto that was highly recommended by several Yelpers as having the best pizza in Stuttgart. Before I start the review, I have to confess that as a Canadian, my idea of an awesome pizza is a lot different than the pizza served in Germany as a rule. The main difference, I think, is that I like the ingredients on my pizza cut up small, and I like lots of cheese. That being said, I have eaten pizza in Venice, so I can appreciate pizza in Germany, which is much closer to Venetian pizza than Canadian. So here we go with the review ... First about the ambiance and the restaurant itself. We loved it! It was a lovely warm night, and the outdoor garden of Il Pomodoro (and the many other eateries beside it were spilling over with a fun crowd of people eating, drinking and generally having fun. Great atmosphere! I would rate the ambiance of the outdoor terrace as a 5/5. Inside the restaurant seems quite nice also (had to use the upstairs washroom which was nice and clean , so I snapped a pic of the wood burning oven in which the pizza is made. It looks awesome, doesn't it? One of the items on the menu was Dorado (a fish baked directly on the stone we didn't have that since we came specifically for the pizza, so we'll have to come back. By the way, the inside of the restaurant is air conditioned : Now about the pizza. My german husband loved his Al Capone large pizza, which had just the right number of shrimp for his taste, and looked really yummy. He rated his pizza as a 4/5. I had the Diavola pizza (salsiccia sausage, mushrooms and hot green peppers . I would rate my pizza as a 3/5, because on the whole pizza, there were only 2 slices of the salsiccia, about 4 slices of mushroom, and two whole, rather large peppers . Also, the pizza dough was quite wet in the centre, rather than crispy. The outer edge of the dough was really awesome though, crispy and very tasty. In conclusion, I will say that we will visit this location of Il Pomodoro again, and try some non pizza entrees."
