"If you are tired of German cuisine during your trip, check out this restaurant. It is located along the city's main pedestrian street, so it's hard to miss. Menu is half French, half local. We love French food and decided to try this place. It...was excellent choice and we got whatever we looked in it escargot, foie gras, salad with warm mushrooms, and of course, French wine. We sat at a table outside, enjoying the weather, food, wine and communication not only with each other, but also with the owner of the restaurant, with whom I managed to practice my French. Everything was great, there were no people at lunchtime at all, maybe you need to reserve for dinner, I don't know."

We spent a great evening with super meals at La Casserole. The Flammkuchen was freshly made and delicious. The meat was super and the cheese dessert with red wine a good way to end the evening Thanks to all the staff

We chose La Casserole over many other restaurants in the pedestrian zone as it was one of the few to offer regional food. Our choice was the right one. The outdoor table with the now needed protections was great and allowed for the restaurant to...seat more guests. We both chose the Alsatian wurst salad. The salad came coming egg and a baguette was perfect for a warm day.

Very nice place. The atmosphere is homely- like in a grandmother's house. Good traditional food and nice and welcoming service. A good choice of wines and the lady gave us recommendations. We were happy and liked everything. I can only complain that one of the...desserts, an apple flammkuchen, was not as good as we would expect, an apple strudel or a traditional French tart taten would be much better to have in such place.

My helpful hint is make a booking to avoid disappointment. This can be done online. Walk-ins are sadly mostly turned away. This restaurant is a little gem. Terrific service, pleasant and relaxed atmosphere and an interesting menu. We opted for cordon bleu, schnitzel and shared...an apple flankhuchen which is like a very thin crispy pizza with apple thinly sliced. Food is delicious. Great products and flavours. Located in the centre of town so easily found. Highly recommended but remember to book!

"Excellent food, let down by interesting levels of service. Firstly, we rang ahead, as we were on the highway and would arrive in around 45 minutes, so wanted to secure a table. We were told they were fully booked, so we asked to reserve a...little later, again, fully booked the whole day! My wife said let's try it anyway, as it has a lot of good reviews, so we arrived to find dozens of empty tables very strange and potentially costly for the management. We were seated quickly and were immediately served bread and oil, which was very good quality. Our order was taken and the drinks were delivered. Unfortunately, it started to rain hard and you could see the staff running around to collect cushions, glasses etc. from the pre-set tables. This is partially understandable (though if you don't have protection against the weather, perhaps you set the tables as the diners arrive) leaving us waiting for 1 hour without food. I raised this with a nice guy (possibly Raffaele) who appologised and sought to fix the problem. Shortly afterwards our food arrived. It was pretty good in quality, taste and value for money, and we were compensated with a free dessert due to the long waiting time. I think this could be a stand-out restaurant in Baden-Baden with a little more thought to staff training/attitude and the general running of the place. Hopefully your experience will be 5 stars and we were just unlucky."
