"I recently went to marcellos with my mother as a weekly treatment. from the 7 or 8 times in the last 2 months I was here I have never seen anything near what I would consider a bad meal or experience premise and atmosphere the interior of the restaurant is very spacious, which allows a simple movement around the space. the atmosphere is very cozy and no matter where I sit the place, is always clean. Moreover, there are Italian radio in the background played, which helps to soak in the atmosphere and sometimes it is nice to hear only music from another country. personal the personal is absolutely fantastic and I never had a bad experience with them and quite openly earn them all a massive pat on the back. they are always super friendly and both I and my mother love to talk to them when we visit. the personal is also very accommodating and will go out of the way to make sure that the experience is fantastic (what I appreciate massive) typically eat every week I will have a three cursor meal consisting of fresh parma ham and mozzarella, lasagne and either chocolate wing cake or tiramisu. eating is always fantastic and I am always able to completely delete any plate that is quite rare for me. In summary, I would warmly recommend this restaurant to my friends and extended family, as there is no better place in my mind to visit throughout the sunderland."

Never had an issue eating here before, needed food for delivery today. The website states they deliver food and allows you to order online. Waited an hour and then called them as we’d heard nothing, they don’t actually do delivery anymore and wouldn’t have let us know (weren’t even aware of the order until I rang). Why have a website offering services you don’t fulfil? Ended up ordering dominos to feed the (now very) hungry people. View menu

Been to this restaurant a couple of times and it’s been amazing every time. The food is lovely, great vegetarian options and they cater to any adjustments you might need ie not cooked with alcohol. Beautiful setting, also really close to uni so a good place to go for lunch between lectures. Staff are great, ultimately a 10/10 restaurant experience. In the heart of Sunderland is Marcellos, the best Italian restaurant in the city. His owner Genaro used his father's name when he opened this elegant place. Their children, third generation but already English, help in the business, both speak English and Italian and one of them defends in Spanish. The exquisite menu, both in pasta and in other options. The wine letter very wide, being the best Italians. The select yet relaxed environment, incredible attention and prices for nothing high, taking into account the characteristics of the place and quality of the service meal.
