"Mixed opinions on this place recently. I used to come when they first opened and it was my favourite place to eat which we did all the time. The service was extremely slow. It took 40 mins for drinks which came right before the meal. The portions are gigantic but the price matched the size so why not lower the price and reduce the portion? This place used to be cheap but now I might as well go to any Chinese or Thai restaurant. The food tastes amazing but................the pad Thai is NOT good. 3 people ordered it that love pad Thai but they said it tasted awful very very sweet and sugary unlike most pad Thais?! Other dishes were exceptional and very authentic. We went on a Saturday and it was SO LOUD. I couldn't hear my family talk. After the slow service and not being able to hear we just all started to get annoyed and wanted to leave. Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1"

Fresh food, decent prices, fast service. The restaurant was at full capacity so that says something. Will definitely return as we live 10 minutes away.

The restaurant offers a lot, making it worthwhile to book a table during peak meal times. However, it may take a while to get served during busy periods. The staff is friendly, and the food is enjoyable. One suggestion for improvement is that drinks should be served before the food. Several tables, including ours, received their food while still waiting for drinks.

Had some wonderful vegan food here this evening. The menu doesn't specify which dishes can be prepared as vegan, but the staff are very helpful and explained what dishes could be made as vegan options (which was most of them! . Food was fresh and delicious tasting and the atmosphere was great. There is on site parking and outside seating as well as quite a lot of indoor seating.

The food was delicious and the portion sizes were generous. This canteen-style eatery is connected to an oriental supermarket. My only complaint was the £2.50 charged for flat Coke, which seemed to come from a 2L plastic bottle. For that price, one would expect an individual can for each customer. - Service: Dine-in - Meal type: Dinner - Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5/5 Service: 4/5 Atmosphere: 3/5 Recommended dishes: Chicken Pad Thai, Chicken Katsu Curry. Unique street cafe vibe atmosphere in a science-lab type building, not just useful for oriental groceries in the shop next to the restaurant, it is also great place to get lunch at a reasonable cost. A well known hidden gem. Parking: The car park is not the biggest, but there is usually plenty of parking. "Absolutely average restaurant. Dirty bamboo table mats and super dirty windows, kinda sad to look out of them. Impatient service, who under 6 minutes 5 times came back trying to pressure me to take my order. I was confused as I thought it was a restaurant not a fast food place. Silly me who used to live in Japan though the menu is just like there, with pictures. How wrong I was...So getting my phone to have a look at their website, what kinda different that in the restaurant menu card one. When I tried to ask for reconditions, I didn't get any, she just straight away took the last what I asked. The steamed algae was very nice, but my noodle soup was a big surprise, as I have no idea what's roasted (burned) pepper and massive chunks of onions doing there? It's supposed to be sea food, but instead just some burned vegetables scared with frozen octopus, mussels and mini calamari rings poured up with chicken broth. So yeah, kinda disappointing. Drink wise I asked the waitress do they have any tonic water as it isn't listed on the menu card, she looked at me like I am a weirdo. I asked for Roku gin what is my favourite. On the receipt was counted as an extra pound because Japanese. Lol, no comment. Getting the drinks, from other restaurants you get the spirit on the rocks in the glass and front of you they pouring the mixer drink from the mini bottle. Here not, just straight away together as it comes. Oh and don't bother asking without lemon, because you are getting one either way. So Akasaka restaurant did not become my favourite one. Once and last. Easily can be forgotten. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £20–30 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4"
