"It really helps when your on holiday to have the HappyCow app, together with doggiepubs app we picked this pub for lunch because of its previous review and the tempting sounding vegan separate menu. Sure enough they were very welcoming suggesting the uncarpeted areas for our pooch to sit. The separate vegetarian/vegan menu had about 4 vegan options for mains, I chose the quinoa burger in bun with French fries, with additional chilli sauce. Very nice just the right amount of spice. Two options for dessert ice cream or chocolate coconut torte, the torte was gorgeous very rich but great with the vanilla ice cream. They also had a great beer garden."

Lots of choices! Nice burger. Not bad service, they were busy but we didn't wait long.

So so pleased they have a vegan Menu again. I had the Ale Pie and it was delicious! Lovely staff too!

a decent amount of vegan options for different taste directions. I had a mushroom cake and my wife had a burger (both vegan). we were very impressed!

the menus they see on the photos are gone. there are no vegan or vegetarian menus and the vegan options are almost non-existent. we were going somewhere else

Due to new owners unfortunately there is no vegan menu. There is maybe two vegan options but we were told by staff that they ‘try’ to keep food separate from meat cooking. The chips are cooked in the same fryer as meat.

The bloke who took our order (young biker with shoulder length hair) was literally well rude other staff pleasant enough. £8 something for the burger was reasonable and it was pretty good! Chips where nice but the coleslaw was almost pointless it was tasty but looked sad on the plate as you got like one spoonful. Toilets where absolutely vile

I was here with the rest of my immediate family for lunch whilst on holiday down here. The whole atmosphere of the place is very nice and has a real homely feel. They had many vegetarian options but weren't such a wide variety of vegan ones. There was only side dishes and a few puddings that were classed as vegan. I had a jacket potato with beans and a side salad and was very satisfied. I only have 4 stars due to the lack of choice, but other than that, it was really lovely

"Burley Manor is set in an idyllic spot and has the potential to provide exceptional hospitality in amazing historic surroundings, the grounds are beautiful. That 's where the praise ends I 'm afraid. We are local so booked lunch as a midweek treat away from the stresses of a busy week. On arrival we waited a while to be seated as there was no one at the restaurant reception point. We chose a table in the dining room where only 2 other tables were occupied so there was no ambiance, unfortunately the table was very wobbly and the chairs stained and dirty so we moved, chairs were equally stained at the new table which didn 't bode well. We ordered drinks and food and the drinks came quickly and with pleasant service. We waited a further 40 minutes and then the waiter came over and apologised and said the kitchen was busy so there would be a further 20 to 25 minute wait, this concerned us as the dining room had only 4 tables occupied including ours and two of those tables had been served before we arrived, the remaining table arrived and ordered long after us . After a further 15 minutes she came and said that it would be a further 10 to 15 minutes. At this point we were running out of time, we asked how 2 very simple dishes that could be cooked in minutes could possibly take so long, even if they had only started cooking them when we were informed of the delay. The waitress was clearly embarassed and couldnt give an answer except to say that was what the chef had told her. My daughter asked her to tell the truth about what was really happening and why there was such a delay ,she then admitted our order had been missed in the kitchen. When the food came one dish was totally inedible, a flatbread described as Cypriot halloumi cheese fire roasted red peppers, smoked chilli jam arrived totally covered in rocket which was not as described(the diner hates it , she cut into the bread and the middle was just raw dough, the flatbread had not been kneaded or cooked properly and was floury, doughy and raw. It was studded with large numbers of huge chunks of raw garlic which was also not on the description. A different waiter took one look at it and said that was not how it should be at all and that there would be no charge for the meals as it was clearly not right. It almost felt like a punishment for being unhappy about the delay! A dish described as Spinach wrap, shawarma spiced chicken pumpkin, wild rocket, sumac, honey, yoghurt dressing was nothing of the sort, yes it was a spinach wrap but it contained tasteless plain pan fried chicken pieces (no spices or seasoning whatsoever and definitely not shawarma! with spinach leaves (not rocket pumpkin seeds (not pumpkin and about half a teaspoon of yoghurt in tiny spots on the wrap. The house fries were supposed to have paprika and truffle salt but were totally unseasoned. The whole experience was most unpleasant and not to be repeated. Such a shame as in the past this was a special place to me for lunch and I had been looking forward to visiting."
