Excellent service. Lovely atmos. All spoiled by paying £45 for two plates of microwave food.. Can't fault the staff but the food wasn't good. Parking: Disabled space so quite happy. This was a flying visit for Sunday lunch while passing through the town and we were well impressed. Really good choices across the menu, happy smiley service, prompt delivery of food and drinks. The chicken menu is a speciality but other meats are available, the gammon meal was excellent. Didn't have time to linger but will visit again.

We popped into The Sun on Bank Holiday Saturday lunchtime, 5 adults, 1 child and a baby. No booking. There were 2 functions. We were seated promptly, served impeccably, the food and drinks were excellent. The manager was alert, on top of everything and the server of our table was efficient and extremely polite. Six of us had the three-meat sunday roast today with extra cauliflower cheese, pigs in blanket and pork scratching the food as always was amazing and the service was excellent, staff are lovely, highly recommend Parking: Good amount of room for parking. First time at the Sun and wow service was excellent even though they were busy, instantly got a table on a Saturday night and was greeted by a welcoming member of staff. We ordered 1x cod and chips, the beer batter was crisp and dry with succulent cod, chips cooked to perfection along with perfectly seasoned mushy peas. 1 x classic cheese burger with fries and house slaw, homemade burger was tasty and good quality, fresh bun and cheese. 1 x hunters chicken, chicken was moist, perfect fries and tasty house slaw. We were visiting Hoddesdon to see our six year old granddaughter appear in a dancing show at the local Spotlight theatre. She did well, recieving an award and medal so the family celebrated the event at the local Sun pub with an early evening meal and drinks. Arriving at 530pm on a Sunday night the car park was nearly full and the pub very busy. Decked out ready for Christmas the pub had a warm friendly family atmosphere. We ordered drinks and relaxed for 10-15 minutes whilst our table was made ready.
