I had a wonderful dining experience at the Anchorage. The atmosphere and service at this charming little bistro were fantastic. Make sure to make a reservation, as it's definitely a place worth visiting. For vegetarian options, my husband found the tofu noodles to be absolutely delightful. We just returned from one night at the barge, and it was wonderful! The view from our little window was stunning. Our room was spacious, and the bathroom featured a lovely wet room. Breakfast was served in the main hotel, and we were impressed by the fantastic service and the friendly staff. We will definitely be back, and the two-hour drive to get there was well worth it!

After a long journey of about 3 hours to get there and check in to our hotel, we decided to have something to eat. The Anchorage Bistro was within a couple of minutes walk. On entering we were abruptly told the the last orders for food was 8.30 pm. A quick glance at my watch showed it to be 8.33pm. Can't comment on the food but the customer service SUCKS!!! Has obviously gone down hill since the good reviews are at more or less a year old. Could be the next restaurant in Tarbert to close down. View menu

We dined at the Sea Bed restaurant both nights. My partner loved the seafood, and I can’t recommend the steak pie enough. The staff was attentive and responsive; they even reserved a table for us on Saturday since it was Easter weekend and the restaurant was fully booked. They called us while we were out during the day to check if we still wanted the reservation. Breakfast was fantastic and set us up for the day! We took the ferry to Portavadie and enjoyed some civilized drinks at the marina. There’s plenty to do and explore, but be sure to pack for all kinds of weather! We’re definitely coming back!
