"I gave this 3 stars based on the lack of atmosphere and character it used to have. The food was excellent as always and we have been coming here for probably 20+ years. Big paper signs at back door by car park to use front door unless disabled, hence the majority of folk coming in front door and despite fire on it was baltic. Table service only so sorta missed the locals standing by the bar chatting .. felt like I was still in covid era, won't rush back."

Went today with a friend will never go again.i had gammon egg chips and pineapple,the egg was so bad it looked like it had been in an accident so I had it changed,the gammon was tough and there was only Amber ale or guineas so I had to have cider as I don't like bottled beer.my friends food was OK but to be honest it wasn't worth the £37.00

We had a fantastic dining experience at the Blackwell Ox. The food was exceptionally tasty, and the portion sizes were generous a lot of which we took home. The staff were friendly and provided quick service. The atmosphere was pleasant, not noisy at all, and I found the prices to be excellent value for money. Highly recommended!
