"One of our favourite pubs for good dining out. Food delicious. Steak cooked perfectly. Every bite was tasty. Service a little slow which not a problem normally but the family birthday party with a young toddler and 2 older children, was horribly noisy. We wanted to eat and go adapt. Couldn't hear the music, just banging of wood on wood and toddler screaming (enjoying himself). Unseated in a self created play area and roaming around other diners and under staff feet. We should have walked out with hindsight, 2 1/2 hours of loud unacceptable noise. Go to family pubs or control your children. Utterly selfish actions and they seem to enjoy the disruption they were creating/actually they may have been oblivious! Even the family leaving (thank heaven for that) and saying good bye was prolonged and noisy. Other groups of eaters were clearly affected too. Parents were totally oblivious and ignored the noise /chaos. I have no problem with families dining out but this by far the worst ever. Staff were in very difficult position however a quiet word with the parents about the disruptive behaviour wouldn't have gone amiss. If this did happen it didn't work. And' please do not return with the poor toddler', on the way out. We should all have been offered a free return meal or money off our bill. We certainly won't be back any time soon unfortunately."

We had a fantastic lunch at the Brook. The good was delicious and the staff were very friendly and attentive. The menu was imaginative ,we could have eaten everything on it!

Absolutely incredible food and such lovely staff! One of the best restaurants by far especially at Christmas time the decor is gorgeous! Cannot even begin to describe how amazing the pigs in blankets are either!

First visit to the Brook was an enjoyable one, waited for our table to become ready in the bar area! Food was very good and the service was efficient and friendly, looking forward to a return visit and have recommended to friends

Excellent service , proper country pub two open log fires crackling . The menu didnt have the greatest of choice but was local produce on the menu and was exactly what I wanted . The food was very nice and great size portion couldnt fit...in a pudding .

Really impressed Great food and well cooked with friendly staff who remember you and make you feel welcome and really looked after then this is the place for you. The Brook for me has a calm cosy atmosphere where you can snuggle away in a...corner near an open wood fire and relax.

This is a hidden gem nestled in the countryside. The chef has a real talent for tastes and flavours. They have recently launched a January seasonal menu. The short rib with bourguinion sauce and mashed potato is as good as you could get anywhere. If...what your looking for is mass food then don’t bother. If what your looking for is quality, taste and a good experience. Then this is the place for you.

I’ve always loved this place, but sorry to say it’s really declined Service was terrible, not checking our drinks, waiting ages to take our order (but so quiet as others have said) having to literally find people and flag them down. Food tasted good,...fish and chips was fab! Mushroom strudel was so tiny compared (like a starter), tasted great but could have done with half the portion again to be honest. One of our faves but would be inclined to try somewhere else for a bit and go back when things have maybe improved

I've been on the bach for a long time, with a great experience, but I'm sad to say the last 5 or 6 times it was very cold in there, I'm tired of drinking my drink and shaking with cold hands. no one illuminates the fire for the bar and it has no radiators. there are spotlights in the restaurant for the diners, but not for people who just want to enjoy a drink. I can only assume that the 2 heaters are on timers in the restaurant because I couldn't get through warm. that's started since the beginning of the last year, about 5 months. it is also not the cheapest pub in the world.
