"I've been there twice now for a group business meal! And as we were all vegans and they didn't have any vegan options on their menu I called them up prior to our booking. And what they did was kindly create our own vegan menu for just a small group of 6! At first when I called I didn't expect to have such variety of options, but they went above and beyond! Not only did we have about 5 options of main meals, but the food by Mikey was absolutely delicious! We were all so impressed! On both occasions the waitresses were so lovely too. We were all so happy with the service that we intend on going back for our retreats. I noticed that people in other comments have highlighted that they only serve meat, well it is an organic farm and many people do go there for that! Yet for us, they were more than happy to accommodate our dietry requirements if you just give them a heads up : Thanks again Jolly Wagoner, and especially Karen and Mikey for making us feel so welcome, accommodating our needs and making amazing food! We will see you soon!"

I met a friend for Sunday lunch. The food was nice and the staff were very friendly but I did find the menu (Sunday) a bit limited.

Visited the jolly Waggoner for a business meal. The staff were efficient and friendly. We sat under a marquee in the lovely garden and was greeted by a friendly waitress. Drinks and food was served fast. Food was very nice. All in all a very pleasant experience. Top marks to the chef.

What a warm (but safe) welcome to a beautiful country pub, a lovely first meal out for me and my family after a long lockdown. Not once did the staff make myself or my family feel unsafe where as other pubs I have been to it has been questionable. The food was spot on and we can't wait to come again soon!

I came here with my partner, our children and dog for lunch. Our waitress was wonderful, very friendly, great with our dog and kind enough to bring her some water and treats. The food was brilliant, easily the best roast I have had in a pub for years! It was a lovely atmosphere sitting next to a hot fire eating, eating good food and meeting lovely staff.

Twice recently we (a group of keen walkers) have used the Jolly Waggoner as a base for a morning walk followed by lunch. Top marks to the pub which is authentically English in the best way and to the staff who are welcoming and attentive. Once we lunched inside and once outside and both times enjoyed good food and attentive service. We'll be back, regularly. Thanks.

Following the earlier reviews we decided to make our lunch stop here after the Halloween experience at Ardeley farm. We had goats cheese salad which was very sparse, a bit of lettuce cucumber and slices of beetroot. Plenty of goats cheese! Really disappointed and quite expensive for what it was. Such a shame. Kids fish n chips looked though. Real log fire was very welcoming.

We went for lunch here on a Saturday with our one year old and loved it. The outdoor area is beautiful with covered seating and a play area that kids loved. The food is delicious and the staff so nice. Just a lovely hospitable, happy atmosphere. The village of Ardeley is absolutely charming and if you have time we’d strongly recommend going around the farm and farm shop next to the pub. Fantastic family day out. Thank you!
