"The Nelson Head is an authentic pub that has been serving delicious, homemade, hearty food for a long time. It caters to both locals and visitors, with walls adorned with memorabilia and local items of interest. They offer a wide selection of ales and ciders, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I enjoyed the liver and bacon dish with mashed potatoes and peas, which was perfection. My husband struggled to finish his generous portion of scampi, which was the largest we had ever seen. The food was great value for money and perfect for a winter's day. The pub is dog-friendly and has an inviting open fire to relax next to. It is conveniently located near Horsey Gap beach, making it a great stop before or after a visit to the beach. It's no wonder this pub was recommended to us - we will definitely be returning."

Excellent place to drop in when visiting the Norfolk coast. The fish and chip lunch is quality, and for us possibly a little to much quantity, many would be very happy with portion size. Excellent choice of real ales and ciders.

The pie was really good. The staff was attentive. The restaurant was busy during Sunday lunchtime. The atmosphere was nice. They had plenty of ales and ciders available. It would have been excellent if there were more options for vegetables and desserts.

What a warm and welcoming pub! We stayed overnight in our motorhome and had a fantastic evening with great food and beer. From the moment we walked in we were made to feel welcome by everyone. Our dogs were utterly spoilt with a steady stream of dog biscuits! The next morning we walked to Horsey Beach to see the seals. Please don’t just use their car park to see the seals, pop into the pub for a pint or two and order the fish and chips! View menu

I don't usually write reviews but I had such a good experience here today that I wanted to. Food is absolutely excellent comforting home made fayre and the lady (landlady? at the bar and the two young men doing service could not have been more warm and welcoming whilst also being so helpful (we had a toddler and a baby with us . Such a cosy authentic country pub exactly as it should be. We'll make an effort to stop here to eat again whenever I'm in the area.

There are plenty of choices at this restaurant. The prawn cocktail, priced at £10, was a bit expensive in our opinion. It was alright, but the prawns were placed on two large lettuce leaves. Although it made the presentation unique, it was difficult to cut the lettuce into bite-sized pieces in the round glass bowl it was served in. It may have been better to shred the lettuce instead. The shepherd's pie was plentiful and very tasty, but the top needed to be browned more if you are adding cheese on top. It looked a bit pale. Some color would have made it more appetizing. The pub is friendly and has a log fire.
