"This was my first visit, had a table booked for 12 noon but on arrival at 11.55 the doors were still locked, when eventually the doors were opened we were met by a rather frosty reception from a member of staff who I later learned was the Duty Manager. Having not been before I wasn’t aware of how the restaurant worked, whether table service or order at the bar. The woman was blunt unfriendly even when my 7yr old son said “thank you” for his drink she showed no interest but simply ignored him. I said thank you for our drinks but still no smile or warmth from the woman whatsoever, this made me feel very uncomfortable before even ordering food, I even considered going elsewhere. Thankfully the rest of our visit was pleasant, I ordered food with a different member of staff the waiting staff were friendly. The food was good plenty of it. This is clearly a very popular place I would definitely recommend booking! A good place with a varied menu, the Carvery looks very good too, it’s unfortunate that one member of Staff can have such a negative effect on Customers."

Well kept ale, excellent food and good service. A little quiet, but the open fire helped the atmosphere.

Most of the meal was very good in our group of 5 however twice my burger came out dry and/or overcooked. Would not recommend the burgers however everything else was lovely.

This charming pub, located at the top of Kinver, offers a traditional atmosphere. Guests can enjoy excellent Bathams beers and a selection of lagers, as well as delicious food served on the premises.

We booked a table for three. It was well located in the pub and two of us chose from the menu whilst the third had a carvery. The pub is noted for its carvery which is very good. The menu meals were also very good with large portions. The staff were very pleasant and made the visit enjoyable. View menu

Great carvery. Have eaten here several times before but this time the carvery queue was very long (we queued for nearly 15 minutes). Only one person carving and he wasn't very speedy. By the time we got to the carvery the turkey, beef and pork joints were almost gone so we ended up with the less than perfect bits from the ends of the joints, including very fatty bits (they couldn't be called slices) of turkey. They didn't seem to be replenishing the vegetables quickly enough many of them were down to the dregs and didn't look at all appetising. Very disappointing because it's usually very good.
