"We were staying in Hayfield at an Airbnb cottage and wandered up the road to find this pub. The name made us wonder if it was going to be a bit of a boozer but when we went inside we were pleasantly surprised. On arrival, we were shown to our table and given details on the specials and our drinks order taken. The menu was typical of a pub which had some old favourites and a couple of fish dishes on offer. We both chose a goats cheese starter. For the mains my partner went for the chicken in a beautifully creamy sauce and I had traditional fish and chips with mushy peas. All absolutely delicious! For pudding we asked one of the very helpful, smily waitresses her opinion on the best dessert and she suggested the Malteasers cheesecake. My partner had that and I had the blueberry cheesecake perfect! The staff are very friendly and smiley, they make time to have a chat with you and the food and service was excellent. We would highly recommend visiting this pub and if ever visiting Hayfield again we will be back!"

Big fan of this pub. Nice and out of the way with a very nice ambience. Service is friendly and the food is really good. The cheesecake is something to behold.

Pit stop on the way back from a rather wet walk! The food we had was fresh and delicious. Staff really helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend a visit

No meals after 7pm. Fairly poor show to be honest. Pub is ok but not good business sense to have just one cook on when the crowds are in. Won’t be back. Photo taken as we sat hungry with our pint before we left View menu

Really nice pub. We had dinner here after a long walk earlier and the food was great, staff exemplary and the beer and wine were also excellent. Good atmosphere as well. If you're visiting Hayfield it is highly recommended.

I come to this restaurant often and recently brought a group of 9 friends. We all had a wonderful time. The food is consistently delicious. We made a reservation in advance for our large party, and all the dishes looked amazing. The service was excellent as usual, and I would definitely return again.

Went here today and couldn't fault it at all. Staff were so so friendly and welcoming. Food was out of this world. We had cheese and onion pie, nachos, steak and ale pie and steak sandwich. Big portions, absolutely gorgous then cherry on the cake was raspberry and vanilla HOMEMADE cheesecake. Omg never tasted anything so good. Fantastic pub View menu

We had a fantastic weekend stay at this amazing pub. The owner and staff were very welcoming. The chef's cooking skills are consistently excellent, with all the meals being delicious and served in generous portions. The bedrooms are of a good standard and have all the necessary amenities. The pub is located in a beautiful area in the Peak District. I highly recommend it.

My family and I had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant, and we were pleasantly surprised by how dog-friendly it was. It wasn't just tolerant of dogs, but actually catered to them, as we saw many other families with their dogs as well. The food was delicious, especially the cheesecake which we loved so much that we ordered an extra one to take home. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive, making sure we had a great evening. The chef even brought out a tasty bowl of roast pork for our dog to enjoy. I would highly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be returning before we leave.
