"The White Hart in Hingham is a lovely country pub. They would be absolutely packed if they could get the food right, something we have been saying for the last 11 years we have been living close by. We don’t go in as often as we mean to but decided to Friday evening, lovely, enjoyed a drink or two, great service from the young ladies and gentleman serving us. Ordered some food (took a chance) I ordered chill with rice for my main meal. Tiny, it was put on a big plate and spread over. I had as much sour cream as I had chilli , a small pile of rice and four small nachos . I’m recovering from surgery and haven’t much of a appetite but it left me still wanting more. If they put the chilli in it bowl, which it should have been served in, it would have looked like a stater. I will say it was delicious, but feel cheated. I did say to waitress when you get the usual, how was your meal, that it was a tiny portion but very nice, and she just said excellent! My husband had fish and chips, it was just ok. Such a shame."

My husband and I had a fantastic dining experience at The White Hart in Hingham tonight. The food was delicious and unlike anything I have had in a while. The flavors were outstanding and I highly recommend it.

I stayed at this hotel over a bank holiday weekend for a wedding nearby. The hotel was lovely and my room was beautiful. The breakfast was one of the best I've ever had at a hotel, and the complimentary cream tea was also delicious. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. I definitely plan on returning in the future.

young man who waited the tables was brilliant, friendly and professional. only gave 4 stars as something disappointed with the menu, but they are changed monthly. must have been the wrong month for me. beautiful meal in saying that, but I was promised, these really brilliant chips and they no longer do them. another reason for 4 stars.

Saved by Sam! 10yrs we have supported local, tonight was a disappointment, £14 for a meal that was served up on half a plate and no side salad. Thank you Sam for adding to my meal. Taste wise delicious We understand the cost of living rises but it could have been better. Sorry for being honest as we love our village pub and will always support it!

I dined at this pub/restaurant before the pandemic and enjoyed the food. However, my recent visit was disappointing. We were charged over £6 for a prawn cocktail starter that was incredibly small, barely enough for one person, let alone sharing between two. I mentioned this to the waitress to pass on to the chef. The main courses, fish and chips, had an okay fish but the batter was overdone and dry, as were the chips. My partner had the pork chop, which he thought was alright. Overall, we were not impressed and would not return for the food.

We enjoyed our dinner Super impressive attention to dietary intolerances both the wait person (Holly) and the kitchen staff made every effort to ensure I could get a meal that worked for me with astonishing thought and patience. The quality of the food when it came was lovely certainly a busy place advise booking also accommodate dogs if pre booked our dog Dottie loved her dinner too. Highly recommend this as a great place to have food relax and unwind. Great accessibility too loos on ground floor and easy to get around Thank you and well done to Holly for great service and attention to detail.

This was a great dining experience with both top quality food and great service. All of our meals where a hit and the hunter’s chicken I had was tasty and well presented. The staff were lovely, making sure we were enjoying our evening throughout. The Scottish waiter in particular was very personable and really helpful when it came to any questions regarding the food or drink. A huge bonus was that they catered excellently to the vegan in our group, which we sometimes struggle with, however this was not an issue as they had multiple vegan options which were well thought out. We had a top experience here and I’m sure we will be back in the future!

"So disappointingBefore coming to the swan I had looked at the menu online, as my youngest child has allergies and is dairy free. It states on the menu that ‘light bites’ are GF and most can be adapted to be DF, brilliant! It was our last day of our holiday and I thought I’d treat them to a nice lunch out before heading home. Where do I start, the service attitude from the lady behind the bar was shocking. I asked what could be made DF for my son and was told that there wasn’t anything and they don’t cater for allergies?! I pointed out on the menu that they state they can and was met with an eye roll basically. Anyway, I thought I would get him some chips, nope, they fry them in the same oil as the dairy and meat products we are vegetarian ! I then asked about the VEGAN dishes they had and I was told they are also cooked and prepared for alongside the meat products so they can’t guarantee they will actually be vegan!! By this point my daughters had already got excited about eating out and the play area that I couldn’t really back track, so I went against my better judgement and ordered 3 sandwiches on granary bread and a childrens fish chips. My son had a packet of crisps. The sandwiches arrived and were absolutely awful, the cheese and onion one was 2 slices of cheap shop bought bread with some pre grated cheese and a couple of slices of onion not even any butter! It wasn’t cheap, £45 for 4 soft drinks, 3 sandwiches and a child meal. Then there’s the play area, sharp screws poking up through the wood chip, lose sharp fixings on top of the slide, and a massive electric open cable under the swings! We swiftly left, it was such a bad end to our holiday and should have been our final hurrah before driving home. Was appalled at their attitude towards me, was treated like an inconvenience, food was awful, please don’t eat there if you are Vegan, although the dish is vegan ? they certainly don’t take the steps necessary to keep it away from meat, and definitely not safe for anyone with an allergy. Such a shame as the location is so pretty with the river opposite, we were excited and left feeling really disappointed. Will not be back."
