"We were staying in an apartment on staithe st, and the day we were leaving , we decided to have breakfast at the bang restaurant, booked a table for 2 on line night before, and pleased we did as it was quite busy, even at that time of morning( 9 am) and I know why, food was amazing, I am a coeliac and that wasnt a problem to them at all,, excellent portion sizes, and the builders mugs of tea are a must, staff are extremely friendly and very helpful and efficient, Thankyou to all at the bang, will definitely be eating there again at different meal times, next time we visit wells x"

"We enjoyed a wonderful family meal at this restaurant, and the food was delightful. Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by a misunderstanding regarding the “Eat Out to Help Out” scheme. We had planned to indulge in a couple of meals while on holiday, but what should have been a £32 bill ended up being £55. It turns out they only apply the 50% discount to main meals, and my daughter's meal wasn’t considered a main, so no discount was given for her dish, soft drinks, or desserts. When I raised this issue, I was simply told, "Yes, that's how we're doing it." I later reached out via email but received no response. I discovered that the restaurant's policy seems to contradict the rules of the scheme, which states that the discount should apply to all eligible items. I love visiting your pub and dislike complaining, but when you're on a budget, it really makes a significant difference."

"Where should I start? this place has everything; rustic charm, friendly staff and the best food I had in a very long time. I had the suppe of the day that was tomato and frying garlic with slightly roasted sourdough brot and butter. that was just delicious. I played it safe and went for the burger and three times cooked chips, and young that was not disappointed. the chips were crispy, but fluffy inside and the burger was so juicy and tasteful. Finally, I had been able to describe what was only dessert as the best I have ever eaten, which was a white chocolate and passion fruit cheese cake with a mango sauce and chocolate ice cream. it was just fantastic from start to finish. I can't recommend this place very much."

"Nice place to get fish and chips while visiting the coast of Norfolk. It's great that there were somewhere, we can get vegan options in a fish and chip shop. I had sausages and chips with muddy peas, which was ok, the sausages and muddy peas were tasty, but the chips only get one 3, because they are not as good as chips from the sea houses (Northumberland), because I seemed to get many small scraped chips. Maybe we have the end of a game? Another visit worth when you visit!!"

"We had an evening meal at Sands. The restaurant was cold, with only 3 other tables occupied on a Saturday evening. We ordered the ‘special’ King prawns with chorizo, garlic butter and crusty bread. The prawns were not fresh prawns, they were the mass frozen prawns you can buy from cash and carries from Thailand. They had no flavour. The chorizo was the tiny diced chorizo that you can often get from supermarkets, again not very good quality. The bread was packet bread, not even fresh bread from a bakers. The portion was very small, for £8.50 I’d expect good quality food or a decent portion, this was neither. The waiter did not deal with the complaint very well, telling us that no one had ever complained about the dish before he obviously hasn’t looked on here before! We ordered various mains, all were ok. The wine menu was very poor, only about 6 7 choices of red wine, when we ordered a bottle we were told it was not available. Overall we the restaurant lacked atmosphere, the food was below average and the service was not very good. We have visited several pubs in Wells that all served much better quality food, with far better atmosphere and service."
