"Service excellent, by the wonderful Maria and her team as always and in fact was the saving grace However, the roast was disappointing. Firstly it was barely warm to the touch, the meat was bland lacking flavour and seasoning. Roast potatoes and Yorkshire Pud were average. Again the vegetables were bought out cold the additional gravy that we requested was piping hot, which helped bring the food to a more acceptable temperature and since we were extremely hungry we ate it. This is the the second roast that we have had from The Black Horse in the last 2 3 months and the last experience was equally disappointing. Having visited The Swan in Chiswick, we were to have the best roast I have ever had the pleasure to experience. So perhaps unfair to compare.. but the kitchen in the Black Horse used to deliver a great roast pls get those chefs similar standard back! We want to eat here as we live in Fulmer and we love the pub: grounds it’s beautiful! You just need a kitchen that aligns with the standard of everything else! (Conversely breakfast in the farm shop is excellent!!"

The food was lovely but sadly the restaurant was like a nursery. Children everywhere. I know it’s Christmas but we couldn’t hear ourselves talk. The staff did apologise a lot and I do understand you can’t hood this against the establishment but it did make our lunch a lot less enjoyable.
