"The Rodney in itself hasn't changed much from the good old days if you're staying for a drink, but the food is absolutely abysmal. 1.30pm had run out of roast dinners, although the kitchen staff didn't realise this until we had ordered, paid and waited 20 minutes. Half the menu wasn't available either in alternative. Should have gone elsewhere at this point as food arrived was a disgrace. 10oz horseshoe gammon was like a slice of bacon, chicken was rubbery and dry and vegetables were cooked within an inch their lives. Everything was bland had very little flavour. One member of our party didn't have a meal at all after returning it, we all would have returned it if we hadn't already waited about an hour for it to arrive and my 2yr old was hungry and board. Appalling, won't be going back for food ever again."

At the Admiral Rodney, you can expect a friendly reception. A charming young barmaid greeted us warmly and provided information about the pub. The windows were adorned with beautiful artificial flowers, and the entire establishment was immaculately clean and well-maintained. They offered Doombar on tap and cold Pinot Grigio at affordable prices. Well done, Admiral Rodney! The average cost per person ranges from £1 to £10. View menu

We went to this restaurant today for a Mother's Day lunch and it was one of the best roast dinners we have had in a long time. The prices were great and the service was quick. We even received a complimentary "mumosa". The two-course meal for £22 was excellent. The portions were huge, the meat was succulent, and the unlimited roast potatoes and yorkshire puddings were the icing on the cake. The staff were all lovely and made our Mother's Day lunch special. Thank you.

We made a reservation for four people at the restaurant. I started with Bombay chicken skewers as my appetizer, followed by a festive burger for my main course. My wife ordered the steak. The festive burger came with the option to add an alcoholic drink for an extra £1.50 for a pint, which we thought was a good deal. The service from the bar staff was excellent and the atmosphere on a Saturday evening was lively. The price per person ranged from £20 to £30. I would rate the food a 4, the service a 4, and the atmosphere a 5.

"I’ve just realised I’ve been visiting The Beck for over 20 years now for both drinks and meals with friends and family and I’ve never written a review! The Beck for me is home from home and I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve visited. They say a business is only as good as it’s staff, and maybe this is why The Beck has lasted so long with a reputation for a relaxed atmosphere good food and good service. The staff here are friendly, caring and professional, I’ve never been anywhere where I felt so at home as The Beck. Edward, Julie, Theresa, Kieran and not forgetting Trish in the kitchen make the place what it is! In 20 years I’ve never had a bad meal here, the food is excellent, and today did not disappoint. I was treating my parents and wife to a belated Mother’s Day and Dad’s birthday meal out, I had the lamb roast which was sublime and my dad had the blade of beef which in his words was “melt in your mouth” good! My Wife had a chilli and my Mum had the flat bread, which were also very nice and portions are plentiful. My daughter has Dairy and Soya allergies and wanted sausages and mash however the mash had butter in it so they made it with chips instead, she also cleared her plate! If you want to go somewhere with a nice warm friendly atmosphere and excellent food at very reasonable prices then The Beck is definitely worth a visit."
