"I rated this restaurant 3 stars due to the absence of the atmosphere and character it once had. The food was, as always, excellent, and we’ve been dining here for over 20 years. There were large paper signs at the back door by the parking lot instructing customers to use the front door unless they had a disability. As a result, most people entered through the front, and despite the fire inside, it was quite cold. The service was table-only, which made me miss the locals chatting at the bar; it felt like I was still in the COVID era. I won't be in a hurry to return."

Went today with a friend will never go again.i had gammon egg chips and pineapple,the egg was so bad it looked like it had been in an accident so I had it changed,the gammon was tough and there was only Amber ale or guineas so I had to have cider as I don't like bottled beer.my friends food was OK but to be honest it wasn't worth the £37.00

We had a wonderful dining experience at the Blackwell Ox. The food was incredibly delicious, and the portion sizes were generous—so much so that we took some home! The staff was friendly and provided prompt service. The atmosphere was enjoyable; it wasn't noisy at all, and I thought the prices were excellent value for what you get. I highly recommend it!
