"I have never felt so welcomed in a pub before, all thanks to Ben and his amazing staff at this hidden gem. My family stumbled upon this pub during a camping trip and were greeted with friendly staff and excellent hospitality. We decided to stay for a meal and were blown away by the delicious Brasenose burger. Special thanks to Rebecca for being so wonderful with our 5-year-old daughter. Our family holiday was made amazing by all of you. We can't wait to return soon. Thank you all once again."

Lovely spot to stay overnight for our trip to Colready Highlands. Might have found my new favourite place to stay.

Fantastic meal. Huge portions and the food was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the Brisket and Guinness Pie if they have it on! To top it off, they gave my daughters an Easter egg as well. Pay these guys a visit, you won't be disappointed x View menu

Lunch here on Tuesday 26th March. An excellent lunch. I had the Steak and Ale Pie my wife had the salmon. Both were well cooked and presented. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pub had a nice atmosphere with friendly customers. Pleased we stopped off for lunch.

I have to say, what a charming place to stay at! The staff were friendly, engaging, and simply lovely. Thank you for the warm welcome and for showing me to my room. I will be here for work over the next few months, and based on tonight's experience, I will definitely be back for the next few weeks.

Food and service is excellent. Atmosphere really nice and in a lovely little village. We had a Sunday lunch here, which was exceptional and the way it was served onto the plate was very unique and pleasing to the eye. We also had a mid week dinner, one day which was again very very good but be warned the portions are very large! View menu

Just went in for a couple of beers so we didn't eat. To be fair, the food we saw being taken to a family group looked very nice. However the staff, whilst polite, seemed more interested in sitting round a table having a chat rather than serving. It was mid afternoon and it was relatively quiet so maybe that's why. The tables were very tacky to the touch.

A Burns supper evening, and a nice welcome with a piper playing outside. Busy night as restaurant was full with a lively pleasant vibe in dining spaces which are small and cosy lovely country pub feel. Burns appropriate menu* choice, served well, timely and very tasty. Piper addressed a haggis in the traditional way. Didn’t stay over but the bedrooms do look welcoming and comfortable. *Cullen skink or mulligatawny; bashed neeps and tatties with haggis (vegetarian available); Cranachan.

"I’m frustrated and annoyed with booking a romantic meal for our year wedding anniversary, with the current pandemic and work commitments it made a change to make an effort and be excited to visit the boxing hare as the reviews had been excellent. We...were seated in the garden room, next to a family who were on first name terms with the waiting staff and who were so loud I thought I was at a Chelsea match! We received complimentary glasses of champagne and we placed our order for starters and main which were excellent however I felt rushed with the service, as much as I tried to have a conversation all I could hear was this family at decibels to which enough was enough usually I would say something, however rather than ruin there evening I asked for us to be reseated to which the waiting staff were in agreement that they were loud! So why place us next to them? We were given a table in a different part of the pub still busy with other diners giving respect to one another. The table given I was advised I had as it was reserved? I placed dessert order and two lattes with baileys followed by the bill! The bill was a tad on the steep side for a gastro pub perhaps the prices are based on the price of fuel to fill the owners Bentley Overall felt it was a rushed evening disappointed with the seating arrangements,I won’t be returning as I felt what was important to us wasn’t important to the Boxing Hare I’ve had better evenings at The Falkland Arms Great Tew, The Great Western Aynho"
