"Unfortunately, the front entrance to the restaurant was locked so that we had to use the rear entrance, as the weather was very cold, this was not ideal. we got our table and unfortunately there is only one menu. we ordered the rock steak and the margarita pizza. I ordered the steak medium rarely and it came from black and blue I still enjoyed it, but in any case not cooked to rarely med. the pizza was in order, quite soggy and too clean would be better if the crust craspier was. we also had the patatas bravas and quietari for the both sides were beautiful, but small, fair enough they are side by side, but are small all the same. in terms of drinks we had prosecco, that was really nice and beer that was beer. when we wanted more drinks to go to cash service, was not very attentive."

Something different not just your average pub. Fantastic food, especially the weekly specials and exemplary service from long time local staff! Clean and chic.

the food is from this world! all fresh ingredients and good service. I usually do not leave reviews for pubs or restaurants, but this place is unreal and I recommend the lion!

made directly, very welcome by assistent manager and manager feel can not make the service mistake, but unfortunately the menu was quite limited and extremely over price, so easy had drinks and went elsewhere to lunch.

What a disappointment. The staff and venue were lovely but aside from that it was poor. The food didn't seem fresh. It was over charred, salted, watery and calamari rubbery. Drinks not made with fresh orange juice and menu limited and just seemed low quality. Not like tapas should be. Won't be returning or recommending.

cold in the pub many people complain) despite a fire unlit! and cold heats. we had to ask for 20 minutes. all specials sold out on Saturday night at 7.30 am get more in the non-ractory science. when eating was very average. for companies that have recently taken this place about this will end very bad for them, unless they get a grip! poor on all levels.

We had a lovely evening at the White Lion on Christmas Eve and welcomed by the very cheerful manager. Nothing seemed to much trouble despite being very busy..The Tapas was delicious, and generous portions. The steaks were described by our Grandson as The best steak ever! The waitresses were charming despite being very busy. Huge thanks from Anne and Trevor Beadle for making our start to Christmas very special.

"We came here on a last minute hunt to find a Sunday roast with family without much expectations. However when entering its a lovely set up and we were greeted by Lee and Alison who looked after us for the meal who just to begin were absolutely brilliant, they really care about the customers and make this place extra special. Now for the food you can get a 2 or 3 course meal so everybody made various selections but all had starters. Most went for the Aarancina which isn't your usual starter with a Sunday roast but for here it packs alot of flavour and is a great way to start the meal. They have a great selection of alcoholic beverages I went for a simple beer. For the main roasts we had a variety of meats I wanted the pork but sadly they had no crackling which was half the reason for ordering but if I am being honest after eating the meal it wasn't missed out the meat was tasty full of flavour but the sides were the key. The roast potatoes were of a top level usually when you eat out they are never as good as eating at home, the Yorkshire were huge and tasty, gravy brilliant with plenty to go around and lots of veg and cauliflower cheese on the side. Honestly this was excellent a really good roast probably the best I have ever ate in a resteraunt. Some of the others had the lamb shank which was huge and had great feedback but the beef was great and so was everything else. So yes check it out eat in and eat some great food in a nice setting with absolutely brilliant service you won't be disappointed."

"What can I say….We held our wedding dinner and impromptu party ! on the mezzanine floor and had the time of our lives with our nearest and dearest. It’s been a pretty special place for us as we dined at the House by Hilly Gant to check the area out before moving from London and so as we were having a small wedding of 22 people we felt this was the best place to have our wedding. Suzanne and the team could not have done anything more to make our afternoon and evening so perfect. The food was outstanding and our guests were very impressed Harry and his cocktail making skills are second to none. Huge shout out to all the kitchen staff who’s attention to detail and timings were spot on. Leading up to the day itself Suzanne took charge and offered her expert advice on how to dress the room and made so much effort with our requirements. 3 children and 1 baby as part of the guest list! . The beef in particular was spectacular and the chocolate fondant was sublime. We honestly didn’t want to leave. After dinner Suzanne was able to crank the music up and we had a little party ensuring all the guests downstairs were still well looked after our friends were actually dining downstairs and were able to join us towards the latter part of the evening! From the bottom of our hearts thank you so much to everyone for making it so special for us. I’m not surprised that you were recently awarded your second rosette, totally deserved. For anyone looking for quality food, locally sourced, and beautifully executed this is the place to come. SEE YOU SOON and thank you again x"
