"I wanted to say thank you to such a wonderful team here who truly looked after us for my Dad's birthday on Sunday. The food was fantastic especially the gluten-free options available, but what deserves more than 5* is the service by the Manager and his team, who quite literally saved my Dad's life after he experienced a medical issue. We will be coming back again again, and recommending to everyone! Dietary restrictions: Fabulous options for gluten-free! The battered fish and chips was just what I fancied and was so happy it was available gluten-free!"

This is a great pub with good food that has gotten even better lately. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is top-notch. I highly recommend dining in for dinner here. The price per person is typically between £10 and £20. Overall, I would give this place a 5 out of 5 for both food and service. View menu

Pub was very nice inside and staff were friendly and helpful. Looks like an historic building that's been converted with modern additions that work very well. Beer and food were good quality. The only other comment would be that the lunchtime menu is limited and quite pricey for a light meal. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch

Our daughter moved to the area that day, so this was the first place any of us had been out to eat in Earls Colne. We all really enjoyed our lunch and the chips are amazing! Service was friendly and very efficient. It is also such a lovely old building. Looking forward to another lunch at The Lion Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch

We had a great time at this charming and welcoming pub. The service was fantastic, and we enjoyed a delicious lunch. The prices were reasonable, with meals costing between £10-£20 per person. We rated the food, service, and atmosphere all 4 out of 5 stars. The woodfired pizza was especially recommended by us. Vegetarians will be pleased to know that the options here are highly recommended.

This was my first time visiting and I was pleased to find friendly staff who were very helpful since I am gluten free. The restaurant offers delicious gluten free pizzas and other tasty dishes. The atmosphere is cozy and charming, making for a pleasant dining experience. I definitely plan on returning in the future. The average cost per person for dinner is between £30-£40. Service rating: Excellent.

"We came here on a last minute hunt to find a Sunday roast with family without much expectations. However when entering its a lovely set up and we were greeted by Lee and Alison who looked after us for the meal who just to begin were absolutely brilliant, they really care about the customers and make this place extra special. Now for the food you can get a 2 or 3 course meal so everybody made various selections but all had starters. Most went for the Aarancina which isn't your usual starter with a Sunday roast but for here it packs alot of flavour and is a great way to start the meal. They have a great selection of alcoholic beverages I went for a simple beer. For the main roasts we had a variety of meats I wanted the pork but sadly they had no crackling which was half the reason for ordering but if I am being honest after eating the meal it wasn't missed out the meat was tasty full of flavour but the sides were the key. The roast potatoes were of a top level usually when you eat out they are never as good as eating at home, the Yorkshire were huge and tasty, gravy brilliant with plenty to go around and lots of veg and cauliflower cheese on the side. Honestly this was excellent a really good roast probably the best I have ever ate in a resteraunt. Some of the others had the lamb shank which was huge and had great feedback but the beef was great and so was everything else. So yes check it out eat in and eat some great food in a nice setting with absolutely brilliant service you won't be disappointed."
