"Another great meal. As locals to the village we often eat here as more than anything it is conveniently located within walking distance. However we are very fortunate that the food is good too. There is a wealth of options on the menu (and kids meals and the odd special. I highly rate the chicken supreme and both lasagnes. My teenager kids also rave about the homemade curry with rice AND chips. If you are wanting pub food in a beautiful setting then I’d recommend here. Portions are large and often too big for me to have dessert but I do recommend the Lemon Curd cheesecake (which I am guilty of taking away! Only observations is the menu doesn’t change which for a regular would make a nice option. Also if you want to have a drink only, there is little room inside (fine in the summer, but not great in the bad weather ."

What a shame you can’t get good old fashion fish and chips. Frozen fish gouchons have so little fish in them you can’t see it let alone taste it. Please bring back faggots.

Amazing food for a fair price. The restaurant looks nice too and is great both for family and other. I had the grilled butterfly cut chicken and it was basically perfect. The staff were also really nice.

We went to this restaurant for Sunday lunch. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. The staff were helpful and friendly. It's a very popular place, so we recommend booking in advance. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

The food and service were excellent. The steak was much better than a famous steak restaurant chain. The homemade coleslaw was delicious and the desserts were fantastic, especially the salted caramel brownie. I will definitely be returning. Great job to all the staff!

Excellent experience! Highly recommended! Ok it’s a little strange, the decor is dated but immaculately clean and the place is just a little bit out of the ordinary, however the personal welcome, the food quality and overall experience was amazing. We will stop here again when passing on the M5 as it was fantastic! Great basic food, nice garden, superb staff all friendly and made you feel valued and welcoming!

Arrived at 2:30 hoping for drinks only and were met at entrance by a staff member who told us in no uncertain terms that they were closing at 3 but we could have a drink in the garden. We felt very unwelcome. No option to have a quick drink indoors, couldn't be served in the main bar, we were made to go around the corner to the garden service bar area under strict instructions that we'd have to leave soon. Frankly, it doesn't take more than 30 minutes to enjoy a pint. Most disappointing.

I am disappointed to write this negative review after enjoying many wonderful meals at the Red Cow in Brent Knoll over the last 15 years. Like many pubs and restaurants, they faced challenges during the pandemic, but they returned with improved food and hospitality. However, our recent experience for Sunday roast on 26/11/23 was disappointing. The selection was limited, with no starters available, and the turkey and lamb were tough to eat. Additionally, the vegetables were undercooked. Unfortunately, we do not plan on returning in the near future.

We have just returned from having a lovely meal. We were last in the area five years ago and my husband remembered the meal we had then so we felt we must return. We were greeted with a very warm welcome and shown to our table. My husband had the gammon with egg and pineapple, mushrooms, tomatoes, peas and chips. My son had the burger with chips and a side of onion rings and I had the Friday special of chicken curry, rice and a poppadom. Clean plates all round. We managed to squeeze in a dessert of salted caramel and chocolate brownie with ice cream. Delicious. The service was excellent too. Highly recommend.

"Been wanting to try this ‘alternative’ pub for a while. Large car park with plenty of space, no steps or slopes into the bar. Access for buggies, wheelchairs etc should be okay, my mother walks with the aid of a frame and has no issues. Inside the decor is certainly alternative but in a great way, loved it! Plenty to look at, keep you entertained and talk about as you wait for your food or just pass the time. Staff were friendly and welcoming, there was just one guy running the bar, taking food orders and bringing food out; I thought he needed a helper or coworker really. There is a decent bar area with seating or there is more ‘restaurant’ style seating further back beyond the bar. We chose to sit in the bar area seating which is a mixture of booth and chairs. Dogs are allowed in which is great, there is free Wi-Fi which is good as my mobile signal was very poor. The menu is standard pub food, quite a bit of choice and plenty of options for gluten free. I chose to have the fillet steak cooked medium, I had a starter of garlic bread but chose for it all to come out together. Mother had beef brisket loaded fries, the portion was massive so I had to help her finish it. The steak was perfectly cooked, I chose to have the peppercorn sauce; this was a bit watery and bland. The steak comes with chunky chips, peas, mushrooms, tomatoes and onion rings. For dessert I had the nutty apple crumble with ice cream, it was okay. Overall this is a great venue with acceptable food, friendly staff and awesome decor that will keep you talking and looking all night. Based on this experience I would visit again."
