"We went here late Friday afternoon for their 1/2 price Fish Chips. We were so impressed. Firstly, I’m a vegetarian, so eat dairy and I really wanted veggie fish and chips as the husband was having F C. They have halloumi on the menu here, so I barefaced asked if they’d do some halloumi in batter so that I could have similar to the Mr. They agreed and when it came out it looked amazing and tasted really delicious, very naughty, but hey, it was Friday and looked like Fish and Chips and bonus, 1/2 price! This traditional pub just outside Bicester is absolutely wonderful, so friendly and cosy, especially with the wood burner lit which oozes the ambiance needed on a crisp Autumnal afternoon/evening. We were looked after impeccably by the staff, especially our lovely waiting person, she couldn’t do enough to make sure our stay was worthwhile. I’d come here every Friday if my waist line could take it!"

Very good Sunday Roasts. Drink selection is unexciting but it’s probably best in the area for pub food. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

This is a charming pub/bistro with a unique village atmosphere. However, we found it a bit too chilly for comfort, and the prices for the food and drinks felt excessive considering the quality. Our ratings are as follows: Food: 3, Service: 4, Atmosphere: 2.

In terms of cost, expect to spend around £20–30 per person. I would rate the food a solid 5 out of 5, as well as the service, which was top-notch. The atmosphere was delightful, earning a 4 out of 5. I highly recommend trying the Fish and Chips and the Sticky Toffee Pudding – both were exceptional! Plus, there’s plenty of parking available, with a free parking lot nearby.

The service at this restaurant was quite disappointing. The food was mediocre, and the staff seemed uninterested; they didn't check in to see if everything was okay and rushed us from the moment we walked in. We felt pressured to leave quickly, which made it difficult to relax. I wouldn't recommend this place, especially considering the high prices. We spent over £100 per person, and it certainly wasn't worth it. The staff seemed young and unfriendly, and management needs to take note of this review.

"On a beautiful Tuesday in August, my mother, our friend, and I decided to go out for a meal. In this area, not everything is open on weekdays for lunch, so I called to see if they were serving, having been there a couple of years ago. I didn't realize that the restaurant is now under different management, but after a quick search on Tripadvisor, the reviews looked good, so we made a reservation for 1pm and headed over. We were greeted by Amy, a lovely lady behind the bar. She was very friendly and couldn't do enough to help (thank you, Amy!). We then sat in the beer garden and chose our meals. We all decided on the two-course £10 menu. My mother went for the ham and potatoes, our friend chose the cod and chips, and I, being more health-conscious as I've been trying to lose weight, asked if I could possibly have the pear and blue cheese salad on the starter menu, but as a main course? Andy was happy to accommodate (thank you, Andy!). Our meals came out, brought by Lydia, who was a cheerful and friendly person and also said it was no trouble to make the salad for me (thank you, Lydia!). I was very grateful, as anyone who has dieted and eaten out will surely understand! Anyway, everything was absolutely delicious! Each meal was well presented and smelled wonderful, and I can honestly say it tasted as good as it looked! 3 very happy people. For dessert, the ladies had Eton mess, and Andy kindly made me a fruit salad with strawberries, pineapples, and pears! It wasn't on the menu, but he allowed me to have 'pud' with the others! Everything was truly wonderful and I can only say good things. We are determined to return as soon as possible to try the evening menu, which looks lovely. Andy (the chef) came out to chat with us after our meal and he was very enthusiastic and passionate about his food, which was really nice to see. He clearly cares a lot about what he serves. Highly recommended!"
