I am very grateful that I booked this restaurant for our dinner. The food here is delicious, I really want to try more items from the menu, so we have already made another reservation. I highly recommend this place. My duck was amazing, big thank you for the chefs.

Most of the time restaurants have a gluten free salad option or rather a limited range that never changes. Red onion have a separate G/Free menu that seems to change all the time and everything I have tried on the various visits here has been delicious. I had a roast chicken dish this time and frozen raspberries with hot white chocolate sauce YUM!

Red Onion is a wonderful restaurant. A great concept, it caters to a wide array of dietary requirements offering separate vegan, gluten free and dairy free menus. You are not limited to a few options either as each of these menus are full of delicious options. The service is great and personable, the owner checked in with us to ensure that we were enjoying our food and visit. Similarly the ambience is lovely and relaxed and the setup is intimate allowing for a great evening of good food and conversation. View menu

We were a table of 5 arrived for a booking at 7.45 pm last Friday day night Waiting staff seemed distracted took sometime to take the food order, forgot a starter , had to continually ask for jug of water, after finishing main course long wait to be asked if wanted to see the dessert menu further 20 min wait for this to arrive then again to be asked what we wanted! We felt pretty neglected most of the night staff seemed to be more interested in running up and downstairs with various boxes not a great evening because of this and by no means our first time at the place sorry but management need to address this and until you do we will not be back.

We had booked a table here on Thursday the 3rd of March for an evening meal . We choose this restaurant because it had a gluten free menu for my wife We arrived 30 mins early they seated us straight away we were handed a menu had to as for the gluten free menu I ordered a burger my wife ordered a duck dish when our food arrived the actual burger was missing along with the bacon I had to go down stairs looking for staff when I found a waiter his reply was did you check for cameras . After they reurned my food complete with burger this time the food was really nice After we had finished our meal we asked for the bill to be given someone else's bill Overall the restaurant is nice they just need...

I opted for the vegan menu (even though I am a vegetarian) to see what the options were and I what a delight it was! So much so that one of my friends selected a starter from the vegan menu too. I had vegetable tempura which was really lovely, served with a couple of dipping sauces and a light salad. I followed this with the bean burger on ciabatta. I have to be honest and say while it was really tasty it was a little dry. The chips on the side were standard skinny chips, not the lovely hand cut chips that we all remembered from past visits.
