"My husband and I have never been here before, even though we live locally, but I can assure you it'll be a new regular favourite. The food was stunning, the service was exceptional and the small details made all the difference. We booked online last minute for our anniversary, we made a note of this on booking and when we arrived our table was decorated with balloons and we were offered complimentary desserts. Unfortunately we did decline as we were so full and the food so delicious we didn't want to ruin the flavour but the thought and touch was so lovely we will be sure to keep coming back. Thank you to everyone that made us feel some welcome. We look forward to seeing you again soon and showing you off to our nearest and dearest. We have nothing but positives to take away from our experience at The Barn Owl"

Booked at short notice on line, for the same day. There is plenty of space between tables, A great selection on the menu, plenty of choice for meat eaters and vegetarians.

Warm and friendly service, delicious food, and generous portions. We both had the pie of the day, my wife had the Steak and Ale while I was tempted by the Chicken Bacon and Leak. Both pies were filled with sumptuous gravy’s and big hunks of meat, the veg was cooked beautiful and the mash sublime

Excellent pub conveniently located next to the A380. Even though it was a busy Sunday they managed to fit our party of three in for fabulous Sunday roast. For most adults the standard size is fine but there is a size more suited to children and a large size for the very hungry. Pity it is not closer to home so we could easily pop in when we felt like being spoiled.

Visited The Barn Owl Inn tonight with family. I booked online as we hadn’t been before my father in law has a bad leg and walks with a stick I asked if we could be seated preferably with no stairs/steps. On arrival they gave us a lovely table not too far from entrance as they had read my message. Food was extremely good and large portion sizes. Desserts were equally as good and service was excellent will definitely be visiting again.

"This was our 2nd time eating in the crab shack, we booked at the beginning of the week to ensure we got a table and took the kids for an experience and the food, the staff are lovely the food is awesome, lovely place to eat however this time was a bit disappointing , asked for a beer of the menu, not available, no oysters, no mussels, no clams completely understand seafood is all seasonal so no drama, we opted to share a hot platter, (as this came with a whole lobster plus extras for only an extra £10 vs the cost of a lobster) and told they would swap the mussels and clams for extra something else as didn’t have these items. It came out with half a lobster plus the other bits promised we queried this we where told that sometimes the chef will give you a big half by weight rather than whole lobster I have never heard of this and felt more upset we where then just being lied to the table opposite also had ordered the lobster and they received whole one so I guess this must have been a small one!? They also told us we are not really telling people to order the hot platter as we don’t have much of it to which we replied this would have been nice to know when you took are order, they offered 20% off, which we agreed to even though being sat by a sign that said whole lobster £120 meaning a missing half should £60?! So I wanted to leave 2.5 stars, but don’t worry these are really big starts , like bright and weighty ones it’s basically a 5 star review?! Right?!"
