"Booked a table for a Sunday lunch with family. We were seated straight away, and although the restaurant is fairly tightly packed, both with tables and a lot of memorabelia, we were not crowded around the table and it was a comfortable spot. Service was quick and friendly, although we were told when ordering to expect a wait of around 25 minutes for food, which was fairly accurate. It wasn't a problem though, and worth waiting for freshly cooked food! The meals were excellent and went down very well, except for the roast beef, which was good but a bit tough and fatty. The choice was also very good, including a separate vegetarian and vegan menu. Desserts were also good value, very delicious and there was plenty of choice. Tip: allow enough time to find parking around the village, as the carpark does not always seem to be in use, and street parking can get busy."

geat meal and great service, despite a super hot and busy (fatherday) we were later on the day 18 clock, and only a dish not from a good menu, and the staff still as friendly and professional as ever. great traditional English pub!

Visited several times now. Food and service has been fantastic. Steaks are cooked to perfection and taste so good, you can tell they use quality ingredients. Decor is very quirky and fun reminds me of a old school pub with all the decor. If you want good food cone here, advise to book as gets very busy.

We went for Sunday lunch again its a fantastic place to eat at, lovely surroundings and the food is absolutely mouthwatering we cannot find any faults whatsoever, the staff are friendly always cheerful and nothing is too much trouble for them and good portions as well. We travel from Mansfield to eat here because the food is that delicious and the prices are excellent. I would advise that people book for Sunday lunch as it does get extremely busy it is that popular.

"Very good. this renovated and updated gastro pub has a beautiful, high-end feeling, without too posh. the personal is pleasant, real and well maintained. good drink selection! music selection didn't seem fit, but not extraordinarily. eating is exceptional, but, based on some personal preferences, there were slightly smaller disappointments with each dish. all were presented beautifully! the scallop starter was perfectly cooked, but there was an unexpected sticky texture on the sea red side. the chilis needed something sweet to balance them, but it was a nice warm pop. the acid from the grapefruit mixed with the petersilie mayonnaise drizzle, but both were delicious. some either flash-frozen or dry germinated greens gave beautiful texture, and the dish as a whole was beautiful. the duck ice starter was rich without being hard. slowly boiled (inspiring sous vide,) the egg was perfect. it was on a bed of slowly baked cheekwange, which is longing! some picking mushrooms have also added beautiful acid contrast. the brioche disc on which everything sat was not my favorite, but again can be personal preference. it seemed too thick, dense and sweet for the court. either would have been a nice sourded or an airy crawling cut my choice. again a very tasty dish. the healbutt main was absolutely wonderful! in butter lubricated, with fennel, white asparagus, a butter sauce with raw and squid-ink pasta. all with dill fronds. only small critique was the toughness of the tips of the braided fennel without knife, which is suitable for cutting through. a unique and very pleasant experience! it was great."
