"First of all the good points. This is a very pretty pub in a great location. The beer was well kept and the wine we ordered was very reasonably priced and delicious. The food was again reasonably priced and the service was good. We had 'dropped in ' at this pub being recommended by my customer that we had just made a delivery to. We got there at the same time as a party of 7 people who were ordering drinks and they then went onto order meals. We ordered our beers which we were enjoying drinking when my husband went up to the bar to order our meals. We were surprised to hear we couldn 't order before 7 pm. It was 5.45 pm at this time. We paid for our beers and said we would try somewhere else. The barmaid/ waitress came up to us as we almost finished our beers and said she had a cancellation so we could order a meal now. We both ordered the broth and pie for main. We ordered a bottle of wine to go with the pie which was duly opened and put on our table. After about 10 minutes, we were then told that there were no pies available so we would have to re-order. We were both disappointed but I ordered the scampi and chips which were very nice and my husband ordered the gourmet burger which he enjoyed. We were just surprised to be turned away at the beginning of our evening. The barmaid/waitress did seem under pressure and I think she was waiting for more staff to come on duty."

Following a recommendation we decided to visit for lunch and were not disappointed. Friendly welcome, good food, nice surroundings, pretty out door seating.

I have never before had a steak and ale pie which had tasteless grey meat in thin grey gravy bulked out with large chunks of white onion. I shan't have it again!

A really lovely pub we were up for a family do and stayed in Ingham. Had a great few drinks in there and bought a bottle of plum Gin. Really nice staff and they were happy to chat to us Londoners. Great place if you are up in that area xxx View menu

Thought we'd visit based on the good reviews of the place. We are far from fussy eaters but appreciate good value. Had a meal that was very poor, to the point where the least awkward thing to do was to pay promptly without a tip and leave.

My husband is a pie lover so this was an ideal treat for his birthday. We had the pate which was lovely and then both chose the sausage pie. A lovely mix of sausages sweet onions and potato with great pastry. It was a rather quiet night and I am surprised that more people aren't taking advantage of this night. Pie night every Tuesday and even better luck for me it's a great price! But we needn't tell him!!

I had the GF free fish and chips last night and it was absolutely deΔΊicious. The batter was light and crispy which meant the cod was cooked to perfection and full of flavour. I've had GF free efforts before in other establishments but either the batter was stodgy or the whole thing was greasy. Not this time though, really nice. The home-made tartar sauce , chunky chips and peas just added to the mouth-watering experience. View menu

Visited with family for Sunday lunch. We were greeted with a smile and shown to our table straight away, there was a good choice of starters and main courses, we had the pate, prown cocktail, soup and a chicken wrap to start which were all very nice for mains we had scampi, hunters chicken, beef, fish and chips, ham and eggs and gourmet burger and all were delicious and presented very nicely. Puddings we had carrot cake, Apple crumble, creme brulet and a panna cotta which were delicious. We couldn't fault anything from the food to the service, good value for money to. We would definately return.

My family and I had wanted to try this place for a While, service was a little slow, starters came, nothing to shout about, husband had bubble and squeak, which was burnt. Mains came, three fish pie specials, and a child’s chicken nuggets and chips, the fish pie consisted of prawns, smoked haddock and leek, with a nice puff pastry lid, the haddock was burnt and you could smell it, it was black on both sides of the fish and at first I thought it was a mushroom with it being black, the taste went all through the pie so we just ate the pastry, I told the waitress who then went to tell the chef, after her return, she told us that the chef had shown her a piece of haddock from the fridge and that...
