Great value pub restaurant. Excellent quality food, especially the fish, chips and peas. Special price on Fridays 2 for £20.

Every time we go for a family dinner at the Royal Oak, we are always impressed. The food is fantastic and the staff are amazing.

Hadn’t been to the Royal Oak for a few years. Pub was clean, staff very welcoming. The food was very good. Would certain recommend it.

Me and my mom went today for lunch. We had the best waitress Laura, who was very good and checked we was OK. The chefs Chris and Alex made delicious food and the Puddings was scrumptious. Reasonably priced and no long wait for food.

The restaurant had prices displayed on the menu for meals and drinks, unlike the Gate. The quality of the food was comparable to the Gate, but there was no forced gratuity and the prices for beers and food were much more reasonable. The restaurant had a nice dining area and friendly table service.

Been coming to this pub for years and never had a bad experience. Staff are so friendly and welcoming and go out of their way to accommodate personalisation of meals always excellent with a family member who has a nut allergy. Food is top quality, good size portions and lots of home made dishes which are always delicious excellent value for money. Shout out to Green and the other waiting staff as nothing is too much trouble.

My family and I visited this restaurant on a Friday night, including 3 adults and 3 kids. The food was reasonably priced and delicious! We ordered the Curry of the day, Fish and Chips, Lasagne, and Tex Mex dishes. All of the meals were generous portions and served promptly. I want to give a special shout out to Mia, who took care of us and is one of the friendliest waitresses we have encountered. We will definitely be returning soon.

Went to the Royal Oak at lunch time to meet up with a wonderful friend. The welcome was very warm from two lovely ladies. The place itself was well kept and spotlessly clean. The food was truly amazing. The homemade steak and ale pie melted in your mouth. The portions were a good size and everything was piping hot. This place cannot be faulted everything was perfect. I would recommend everyone to try this place as it an absolute gem. You won’t find better.

Not having been for a while, my husband suggested here for a birthday treat. So glad we did. We were greeted warmly and, as I'm disabled, were shown several suitable tables. The waitress gave us the menus and waited a few minutes for our decisions. It was a no-brainer, as we knew their fish chips were good. I ordered the large, hubby opting for the small. Drinks were served promptly and the meals followed soon after. OMG the batter was light and crispy, fish perfectly cooked and seasoned, chips crispy on the outside, fluffy in the middle. The staff were all very courteous and attentive. We had a lovely evening. Hubby managed to find room for sticky toffee pudding, which he ate with great rel...
