"Dropped in for a pint, tried to pay but they wanted me to open a tab with my card. Argued that i was only having a pint and they relented (perhaps they thought I was going to pinch the glass). Beer is pricey but the food is outlandish. I guess they want to keep the hoi polloi (like me) out. Very 'hunting,shooting and fishing clientele. Kings Head is just down the road in Navenby. They have good beer and the food is great. They also have free chips and sandwiches after the Monday quiz."

What impresses me about this gem of a place is the quality of the ingredients....the chef is truly a magician. Well presented, cooked with a flare for flavour. Charming 0lace, highly highly recommended. Service impeccable, great atmosphere...it has it all.

excellent menu. all four of us enjoyed our meals. could not mistake the cooking art or the presentation of the food. the service was also good. only faults were that we were not asked if we wanted water with our meal, nor if any sauces (in our case meerrettich) were required. will definitely return. Food is about as good as it gets, without being Gordon Ramsey. Its expensive but not Jamie Oliver expensive. And you can usually get a table so the prices can be prohibitive to many.Still, a really nice restaurant pub; good real ales, attentive well trained young bar staff and the wonderful food. Its really that good... but you pay for it.
