"we were at sophias by chance, because we didn't book and just came by. they were so courteous and found us a table. there were live guitar playing and the atmosphere was great. eating was really good and delicious and the staff was excellent. I wish more restaurants take care of their customers like this place update. May 2022. I noticed that the above-mentioned review had not yet been published and was still in the form of draft. at least yesterday we went back to sophias and again the service and eating was excellent. no music this time, but the atmosphere was great as we are the personal. can highly recommend the calezone pizza. thanks sophias."

This Italian restaurant is truly exceptional, with a cozy and elegant atmosphere. Be sure to make a reservation to avoid disappointment. I will definitely be returning. Service was top-notch. I dined in for dinner and the price per person ranged from £30-40.

First time going in Sophia and I was more then impressed from staff to the place taking you to a different part of the world. Service and food was spectacular. Well cooked , good size portions , well presented and fresh seafood cooked to perfection. We will definitely adding it to our go to restaurants and recommend to others.

visits to valentineday. very friendly staff, owner or manager, always looked over, but never actually recognized us in any wise only looked at me when I went alone. there was a photographer who made pictures of our eating, she was very nice, but it was out when it tried to have a romantic evening. it killed every romance to be honest, therefore score

the visit was for my daughter hen party to eat. the menu was varied and cheap, service was very attentive and the beverage menu was very good. The portions were very generous and the food quality and presentation was excellent! oh, and remember the beautiful music playlist! as a self-proclaimed food I would recommend this private intimate restaurant. 10 of 10!

Wonderful place to eat, searched on Google for a nice place to take my partner and so glad I chose Sophia's. The waitresses were very attentive and polite with nothing being too much hassle. The food was fantastic, the meatballs for starters are a must and the lasagne was also amazing and a good portion. Lovely setting and overall restaurant and we will definitely be visiting again soon.

This is a genuine review of this restaurant and I can't believe I am writing it as I normally think they are mostly fake! However......Incredibly good food and service, we had a most enjoyable evening and attention to our wants and needs were well taken care of. Reasonably priced and I was expecting to pay far more than the bill was. Well done all at Sophias, we will not only be returning but will be brining others to enjoy your hospitality and food.

I agree with the other assessments on the difference. we have eaten several times here and it was always good. Unfortunately, they now seem scrimp on a portion side and the sides leave them down. Mushroom starter is now very small and not so delicious. vegetable side not existent really. a couple of mushrooms. very small and not so good. we ordered an additional ruber. no aroma wein on the glass was also very limited, but the prosecco was beautiful. what a shame that this experience would take us into the mind. the service was good, but some of the food we let it down.

"I wondered why this restaurant described itself on the board outside as ‘fusion’, why there were so many Korean dishes on the menu and why the serving staff have heard of Asahi beer but haven’t heard of The Asahi Shimbun, a Japanese daily newspaper that is at least 50 years old. The answer is that the Akasaka website isn’t being completely honest when it describes their Northampton branch as a Japanese restaurant. They aren’t really Japanese, although some of their menu items are clearly Japanese. Don’t let that put you off, however, as they are serving excellent food and we enjoyed our meal there very much. It cost us about £70 (inc. 10% tip) for our meal for two people including a 175ml glass of Sauvignon Blanc for my lovely wife and two 330ml bottles of Asahi Dry for me. The sushi was excellent, the edamame beans were great but we didn’t feel that the Dolsot Bibimbap (a Korean dish with loads of rice, some shredded vegetables, prawns and a fried egg on top) offered very good value for money at just under sixteen pounds. We would recommend Akasaka in Northampton and would certainly go there again, but if we want a genuinely Japanese meal, prepared and served by Japanese staff, then we will be sticking to Ginza Restaurant on Wellingborough Road in Northampton. Don’t like the way that the male members of staff at Sakura on Bridge Street speak to their female colleagues, very disrespectful, so we avoid that Japanese restaurant nowadays. Great to have a choice of three Japanese restaurants in Northampton post-pandemic, and our favourite of the three is Ginza."
